About the position
The Associate Director of Technical Project Management at Verizon will lead the Corporate Systems Group’s mission to digitize core processes, delivering real-time insights and capabilities that drive growth and competitive advantage. This role involves managing a team of Portfolio Managers, overseeing investment life cycles, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will leverage their leadership and analytical skills to optimize spending and support product and platform teams in achieving their objectives.
Responsibilities
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of Verizon Corporate System Group’s product portfolio and application landscape.

• Lead a team of Portfolio Managers in managing the life cycle of investments and initiatives.
,
• Enable wing to wing portfolio operations and manage portfolio risks and inter-portfolio dependencies.
,
• Model budgets and balance against workforce plans and financial thresholds.
,
• Manage business case creation and support the idea submission process with clear governance and KPIs.
,
• Provide continuous improvement guidance to portfolio owners and optimization recommendations.
,
• Ensure budgeting alignment, modeling, and tracking of spend.
,
• Collaborate with other CIO teams to build out a cross-CIO GTS roadmap and demand view.
,
• Lead the Vendor Management Office for CSG, managing relationships with key vendor contacts.
,
• Oversee vendor intake, payment, and contracting needs for CSG.
,
• Provide analytical insights for portfolio enablement to maximize efficiency.
,
• Research and apply critical thinking to industry trends and competitor dynamics to provide relevant business insights.

• Develop effective presentations and narratives for stakeholders.
,
• Participate in scenario planning and ‘war gaming’ workshops.
,
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to realize the value of strategic initiatives.
Requirements
• Eight or more years of relevant experience in corporate strategy, technology consulting, product management, or corporate development.

• Experience with value realization and implementing investment prioritization frameworks.
,
• Experience in building and evaluating technology business cases.

• Willingness to travel.
