Associate Director, Software Development

About the position

The Associate Director-Software Development at Verizon is responsible for leading and managing Call Center and Store applications within the Value business. This role involves overseeing a talented team, ensuring high-quality product delivery, and collaborating with business units to align on goals and vision. The position requires technical leadership, management of large-scale applications, and the implementation of Agile methodologies to drive innovation and efficiency in customer service and sales processes.

Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the Call Center and Store applications in the Value business.

• Coach and mentor a highly motivated team to deliver high-quality products and services.
,
• Partner with business units to establish goals and communicate the vision set by senior leadership.
,
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver business value through the Northstar Architecture tech stack.
,
• Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise on complex projects across multiple channels.
,
• Lead the Center of Excellence for Call Center and store channels, delivering end-to-end solutions for Sales and Service flows.
,
• Manage relationships with vendors to improve quality and reliability of products and services.
,
• Establish objectives and create road maps to align with business partners and stakeholders.
,
• Drive DevOps implementation and manage the delivery of projects within budget and time constraints.
,
• Analyze market and technology trends to identify growth opportunities and recommend process improvements.

Requirements
• Eight or more years of relevant experience in software development or related fields.
,
• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience in a relevant area.
,
• Advanced experience in Software Development and technology leadership.
,
• Experience in managing and motivating large technical teams.
,
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver large-scale technical projects.
,
• Demonstrated experience in partnering with Business and IT teams to drive alignment and delivery.

Nice-to-haves
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Experience in business process transformation and user experience optimization.

• Strong knowledge of operational discipline and change control procedures.

• Experience managing large vendor performance and maintenance contracts.
