Services / AI Engineer (U.S. remote)

Quiq is looking for a creative, curious, and hungry software engineer who can help us grow on the next step of our journey.

In this role, you will be working on Quiq’s Services team, responsible for creating custom integrations and solutions on top of our modern, cloud-based communications platform. Projects may include working with conversational AI designers to build smart assistants, integrating customer solutions into Quiq’s UI, and developing additional backend and frontend solutions to help tailor our product to our customers' needs. The role may require interfacing directly with customers to understand their needs, documenting requirements and planning for successful implementations.

Primary Role Responsibilities

In this role, you will be working on Quiq's Services team, responsible for:

• Creating custom integrations and enhancements on our communications platform
• Working with conversational AI designers building smart assistants
• Integrating customer solutions into Quiq's web-based UI
• Developing backend and frontend solutions to tailor our product to customer needs
• Building AI-enabled solutions and integrations with customer systems

Core Requirements

• Experience with dynamic languages such as Python, Node.js, Ruby or others
• Solid foundation in Computer Science (BS/MS) or significant industry experience
• Understanding and experience with REST, HTTP, and contract-based APIs
• Database experience, with both NoSQL and relational databases
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a software developer
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to dive into unfamiliar code
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable interacting with customers

Bonus Skills:

• Working in cloud-based, serverless environments (containers, cloud functions)
• Experience contributing to open source projects
• Familiarity with modern web development frameworks such as React.js

Extra Bonus AI Engineering Skills:

• Experience integrating with knowledge bases and APIs for AI systems
• Familiarity with Generative AI and vector databases
• Demonstrable experience leveraging LLMs from code a big plus
