Position Overview
As the Senior Manager, CFS, you will lead the strategic direction and operational excellence of PrePass’ Credit, Collections and Billing functions. This role leads a team of managers, supervisors, analysts, and specialists, with responsibility for credit risk, cash collections, claims resolution, and billing processing.
You will partner closely with Finance, Legal, Sales, and Customer Success teams to ensure healthy cash flow, minimize bad debt, and support positive customer relationships while maintaining compliance with relevant laws and internal controls.
What You’ll Do
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of credit, collections and billing professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Manage workload distribution, goal setting, and performance reviews for direct reports.
Credit Strategy & Risk Management
- Establish and enforce company-wide credit policies and risk assessment protocols.
- Partner with Sales to make informed decisions on customer credit limits and terms.
- Monitor economic trends and customer behaviors to proactively identify credit risk.
Collections & Billing Oversight
- Oversee collection activities to ensure timely cash flow and resolution of disputes.
- Oversee billing process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Implement and improve systems and workflows for tracking outstanding balances, claims management, and payment plans.
- Approve or escalate decisions related to charge-offs, settlements, and third-party collections.
Process Improvement & Analytics
- Analyze AR performance metrics, bad debt trends, and collection efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to automate or streamline workflows across credit, collections and billing operations.
- Provide regular reporting and insights to Finance leadership.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and industry regulations governing commercial credit and collections.
- Lead audit readiness efforts and maintain strong internal controls over receivables.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the primary liaison between Finance and other business functions related to billing, disputes, and collections.
- Support change management initiatives related to ERP enhancements or system integrations.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in credit, collections, and billing operations, with 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role
- Strong knowledge of credit law, bankruptcy proceedings, and commercial collection practices
- Hands-on experience with ERP and AR systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP)
- Proven ability to lead teams through change, scale operations, and improve performance metrics
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to influence at all levels
Bonus Points
- Experience working in transportation, logistics, or a subscription-based billing environment
- Familiarity with litigation support, lien enforcement, and recovery strategies
- Certification in Credit Management (e.g., NACM CBA, CBF, or CCE)
