PPCCC is a trusted provider of high-quality, affordable reproductive health care along California’s Central Coast. Each year, PPCCC provides 35,000 people on the central coast with health care services; including sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, birth control, breast and cervical cancer screenings, vasectomies, and safe and legal abortion care at our six health center locations. PPCCC also provides comprehensive sexuality education programs to help adults and teens make healthy decisions, prevent unintended pregnancies, and avoid sexually transmitted infection.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist manages the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department including HRIS, recruitment, on-boarding, benefits, payroll, leave, and workers compensation. Collaborates with the Director of Experience and VP of Human Resources to develop and implement effective HR development programs to deliver high quality HR services that reflects the values and objectives of PPCCC.
- Oversees changes, and audits the HRIS System (Currently ADP Workforce Now) ensuring employee changes, and policies are being implemented consistently, accurately and in accordance with State and Federal law.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and best practices; reviews policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
- Maintain affiliate personnel files in compliance with applicable state and federal laws and audit guidelines. Oversee maintenance of records for insurance coverage, medical certification, workers’ compensation, leaves of absences, and PPCCC benefits administration.
- Collaborates with HR Coordinator and Director of Experience to ensure recruitment and selection process for all open positions will effectively promote and enhance PPCCC mission and goals. This includes reviewing posting positions, applications, communicating with applicants, and sending offers.
- Administer and maintain the external PPCCC Applicant Tracking System.
- Efficiently administer the affiliate’s benefit package, including enrollment, changes and termination. Act as contact person for insurance brokers and applicable representatives. Assist staff with questions concerning enrollment, costs, benefits available and problems in order to ensure that staff understand, utilize and appreciate their benefits.
- In collaboration with the Director of Experience and the HR Coordinator coordinates service award programs, staff recognition programs, affiliate-wide retreats and staff events.
- Oversee transfers, promotions and internal opportunities, to ensure the required documentation has been completed and submitted
- Advise supervisors of upcoming performance evaluations in order to ensure that evaluations are completed in a timely manner. Act as resource for supervisors for corrective action to ensure that policies are followed adequately.
- Serve as a problem-solving resource for the affiliate on matters including but not limited to; benefits, leaves of absences, unemployment claims and workers’ compensation.
- Oversee Workers’ Compensation. Maintain OSHA Log. Work with appropriate staff to ensure that safety policies are up-to-date and implemented effectively.
- Assist with updating manuals, policies and procedures as needed in order to ensure all staff are trained and follow guidelines about safety in the workplace.
- Manages leave of absences in compliance with regulations and policies.
- Initiate credentialing process for all licensed staff and collaborate with Director of Revenue Cycle to ensure credentialing is completed in a timely manner.
- Partner with VP of Human Resources on employee relation matters, and advises managers on policy guidelines.
- Assists Payroll team to review and approve biweekly payroll.
- Partners with Director of Experience and VP of Human Resources to develop, implement, and deliver employee development programs, and trainings.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Human Resources Certification, or equivalent HR experience
- Two (2) to four (4) years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
- Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, and HRIS web-based systems
- Experience working with labor relations preferred
- Bilingual English & Spanish, desirable
Planned Parenthood California Central Coast’s (PPCCC’s) compensation philosophy supports the organization’s mission, vision, and values. Each position has a salary based on market value and the organization’s pay levels. The starting salary for this position is $75,445/year with an opportunity for an increase after six months of employment. As part of our commitment to pay equity, PPCCC does not negotiate salaries.
Pay Differential: $1.00 bilingual Spanish/English differential pay is offered upon passing the language assessment test.
