Logistics Coordinator

Logistician

The Logistician will provide the following services:

A Logistics Coordinator at the facility will oversee and facilitate supply chain operations for a secure Government program. The candidate will coordinate personnel and processes to ensure the effective distribution of Information Technology (IT) parts from multiple IT vendors while ensuring compliance with Chain of Custody (C-O-C) requirements for each order and shipment.

The candidate must have strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as expertise in supply management principles and practices. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent record-keeping abilities, and maintain a customer-focused approach.

The goal of this position is to ensure smooth operations across a variety of secure Government logistical channels.

Advanced Skills

  • Understanding and processing of secure customer Military Transport Request (MTR) paperwork.
  • Coordination with the Military Transportation Courier (MTC) group.
  • Hazmat shipping and handling for the U.S. Government.

Supplier Personnel

The supplier will provide personnel with the following qualifications and skills to perform the services:

  • Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
  • Minimum 1.5 years of experience with C-O-C processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehousing, transportation, and customer services.
  • Direct, optimize, and coordinate the full order cycle.
  • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers.
  • Track quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs, and efficiency.
  • Arrange warehouse storage, catalog goods, plan routes, and process shipments.
  • Resolve issues or complaints as they arise.
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets.
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.
  • Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations.
  • Optimize the use of premises, assets, and communication channels.
  • Utilize logistics IT to streamline procedures.
  • Recruit and coordinate logistics staff (e.g., deliveries, truck drivers) based on availability and requirements.
  • Supervise orders and ensure the stocking of raw materials and equipment as needed.
  • Communicate with suppliers and customers to establish profitable agreements and mutual satisfaction.
  • Plan and track shipments of final products according to customer requirements.
  • Maintain logs and records of warehouse stock, executed orders, etc.
  • Prepare accurate reports for upper management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience as a logistics coordinator or manager.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and track multiple processes.
  • Computer proficiency, including experience with logistics software.
