About the Role:
Penta is actively looking for a curious critical thinker – An enterprising individual with a passion for puzzles. A dot connector. An inquisitive intellectual. As Senior Research & Insights Analyst you’ll deliver mixed methods research and provide cutting-edge insight to help drive client businesses forward with data-driven decision-making. You’ll design and implement a range of qualitative and quantitative research approaches to provide insights leading to actionable strategies. You’ll drive the full process from survey to story.
Ideal candidates will have experience (or a strong interest) in public and/or international affairs, policy, advocacy, or political research across a variety of primary research methodologies including quantitative and qualitative research and are accustomed to working with elite (executive level and stakeholder) clients.
This is a custom research role and blends research and statistical analysis (80%), and strategy (20%). In partnership with other researchers, analysts, and decision-makers, you will leverage a deep curiosity to develop questionnaires and studies that gain answers to our client’s biggest questions and help drive business objectives. You’ll help to translate the data into key insights and present actionable strategies to elite clients in a compelling and insightful way.
Responsibilities:
· Translate business objectives into research steps (e.g., design and structure questionnaires, moderate focus groups, etc. to provide compelling and useful data that will inform key decisions);
o Devise and evaluate methods for data collection
o Construct qualitative and quantitative custom research projects
o Work cross-functionally to build relevant primary research collection tools for customers
· Support client research needs and contribute innovative ideas and relevant solutions that exceed client expectations upon delivery
· With advice and oversight from senior staff, participate in survey design, questionnaire and discussion guide development, and preparation of analytic reports and presentations
· Manage projects across multiple client accounts simultaneously and manage the time accordingly
· Proactively manage senior staff and research operations by making sure the project stays on schedule and provide regular updates regarding project status
· Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of research projects and subject matter by conducting secondary research as part of informing each research engagement
· Analyze data and identify relevant trends and insights; Simplify complex data into a user-friendly format, such as graphs, charts, and other visual aids
· Apply critical thinking skills to translate information into actionable intelligence
· Preparing and presenting reports to elite clients and management
Required Skills and Abilities:
· A thorough understanding of the steps, approach, and research methodologies and the ability to drive the entire process from scoping to completion
· Strong data & analytical skills & track record of delivery
· Attention to detail and accuracy of output
· Adept with sound data visualization skills
· Strategic understanding; the ability to connect data, analytics, and high-level thinking
· Ability to present complex information clearly and professionally to a variety of
audiences
· Ability to multi-task and work cross-functionally to prioritize, schedule and work to deadlines

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing research, Statistics, Math, or a related field required
· Experience or a strong interest in public and/or international affairs, policy, advocacy, or political research
· Experience with complex global research and/or tracking research a plus
· 3-5 years’ of experience in research
· You have 3-5 years of work experience in an elite client-facing role
· Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and related computer software packages
