We are seeking an Associate Packaging Engineer, who will report to the the Packaging Engineering Manager and will support the execution of packaging initiatives across Our Home’s growing portfolio of snack brands. This individual will play a key role in assisting with packaging development tasks, including documentation, pallet pattern creation, technical data review, and coordination with internal and external partners. The Associate Packaging Engineer will help ensure that projects are completed on time, on budget, and within scope by reinforcing standardized processes and tools that guide effective packaging development.

This role is ideal for someone eager to grow in the field of packaging while contributing to real-world projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support the Packaging Engineering Manager in executing packaging development projects by handling technical documentation, packaging requests, and internal and customer forms
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of pallet patterns using TOPS software
  • Compile, organize, and review packaging data for analysis and cross-functional reporting
  • Communicate with internal teams and external partners to gather necessary information and ensure packaging deliverables are met
  • Reinforce packaging development workflows and project tools to keep tasks aligned with business timelines and cost goals
  • Help maintain packaging databases, and specifications
  • Participate in packaging trials, supplier meetings, and commercialization efforts as needed
  • Confident, driven, self-starter with ability to work autonomously and multi-task

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to manufacturing facilities as needed: Up to 10%

 

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in a packaging support role or related internship/co-op in a manufacturing or CPG environment
  • Foundational knowledge of packaging materials (e.g., flexible films, corrugate) and packaging processes
  • Familiarity with packaging concepts and/or exposure to manufacturing or packaging development (internships or entry-level roles preferred)
  • Exposure to packaging line equipment such as vertical form/fill/seal machines or secondary packaging systems is a plus
  • Familiarity with packaging documentation, specifications, and industry terminology
  • Eagerness to grow within a collaborative team and support the successful execution of packaging initiatives
  • Strong attention to detail and organization, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Clear and proactive communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Enthusiasm to learn and grow within a collaborative team
