Are you up for advancing an already successful, 120-acre elder care community located in Franklin, Indiana? 

Otterbein SeniorLife is a vibrant, faith-based, not-for-profit ministry serving older adults. We have an opening for a Director of Nursing whose role is to spearhead the delivery of high-quality services in a person-centered environment. You will accomplish this through directing the resident care services team in our community.

Scope of the Otterbein Franklin community:

  • 230+ Independent Living and Assisted Living Apartments and Homes
  • 44,000 square feet of Long-Term Nursing capacity
  • 20,000 square feet of Post-Acute Rehabilitation capacity
  • Memory Care
  • Brookside gated community of 120+ custom homes and neighborhood amenities

Most important, we have a team of seasoned and dedicated direct care and supporting employees who are passionate about elder care and our resident's sense that every day.  

Responsibilities

  1. Assures the quality care of residents is provided on a 24-hour basis through training, scheduling, directing, and supervising quality and sufficient staff.
  2. Oversees all day-to-day operations of the nursing department in all levels of care.
  3. Develops and updates appropriate policies and procedures for licensed areas.
  4. Works with the physicians, pharmacists, and other health care professionals and suppliers that are part of the health care team to ensure that exceptional care is provided.
  5. Works closely with residents, families and responsible parties of the person who resides in our care in all areas of the campus, addressing their concerns, meeting their needs, and exceeding their expectations.
  6. Assists and leads partners in utilizing appropriate techniques for effective assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of residents and their needs.
  7. Develops and implements strong systems to ensure goals are met and medical, psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual needs of residents are addressed by the team.
  8. Ensures that equipment and supplies are neat, clean, safe and utilized appropriately at all times.
  9. Ensures community and department policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as local and state regulations, are met and followed by everyone in the area.
  10. Manages the nursing department budget.
  11. Leads the quality assurance and improvement efforts.
  12. Coaches and teaches partners and works with them to create the Otterbein Experience

Qualifications

  1. Education: Graduate of an approved nursing program
  2. Licensure/Certification: Valid Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license
  3. Experience: The successful candidate will have strong clinical skills, effective communication and leadership skills, a commitment to exceptional customer service and previous management experience. The candidate will also need to demonstrate alignment with Otterbein mission and values and have a passion for serving others. At least five years in a nursing leadership role preferred.
