Job Overview:

We are seeking a Medical Claims Data Analyst to join our team. This role is primarily responsible for analyzing medical claims data to identify cost savings opportunities and evaluating medical provider coverage maps to assess geographic coverage for prospective customers. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with medical claims data, and a keen ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze medical claims data to generate insights on cost savings opportunities for self-funded employers.
• Identify trends in medical utilization and provider pricing to support cost reduction strategies.
• Develop geographic coverage analyses to assess provider network adequacy for prospective customers.
• Utilize data visualization tools to present findings to internal stakeholders and clients.
• Collaborate with the sales and account management teams to support business development efforts with data-driven insights.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity when extracting, transforming, and analyzing large datasets.
• Provide ongoing reports and dashboards that track cost savings performance and provider network metrics.
• Stay up to date on industry trends and regulatory changes related to medical claims and provider networks.

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Health Informatics, Statistics, Business, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in healthcare data analysis, preferably with medical claims data.
• Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Strong understanding of healthcare billing codes, claims adjudication, and provider reimbursement models.
• Experience with geographic information systems (GIS) or mapping tools is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
