The Job

The Commercial Solar Performance Specialist will have primary responsibility for the operational health and performance of a growing portfolio of commercial solar projects. The qualified candidate is experienced with commercial solar energy, has some experience with monitoring platforms and solar data analysis and has demonstrated a track record of excellent customer service and client communications.  This role requires a self-starter skilled at managing multiple tasks and priorities, working across daily routine tasks as well as innovative projects. The Commercial Solar Performance Specialist will identify and resolve performance issues with commercial solar systems, deliver reporting obligations, provide technical support assistance to customers and service technicians.  

This position will be responsible for a portfolio of assets, many of which are manually monitored and will require active checking daily as well as manually uploading data to our proprietary platform.  Experience with Green Power Monitoring is highly desired but not necessary.

• Become proficient in various solar monitoring platforms, including Omnidian’s platform.
• Proactively identify and manage asset issues, create issue cases/tickets, notify clients of these issues, and provide corrective action recommendations.
• Assist the Portfolio Operations Manager in resolving alerts efficiently.
• Open and diligently track tickets to ensure detected issues are resolved.
• Collaborate closely with the Performance Manager and Portfolio Operations Managers to ensure timely closure of all issues.
• Manually monitor multiple assets outside of our proprietary platform.

• Track client reporting obligations and ensure that assets are fully integrated into Omnidian’s platform to enable automated reporting features.
• Produce and review monthly reports for the Portfolio Operations Managers.

• Actively contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying, documenting, and adopting best practices and standardized procedures.
• Help pinpoint features and enhancements for Omnidian’s proprietary platform to optimize its functionality and user experience.

• You are highly organized and meticulous, with a strong ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
• You have excellent communication skills, capable of handling high levels of communication both written and verbal.
• You remain focused and productive when handling tasks that may be repetitive.
• You are adept at managing multiple priorities and stay calm under pressure.
• You have a passion for learning new skills and concepts and are quick to adapt to the changing needs of the business and our team.

• 2+ years of experience in the commercial solar energy industry  (in operations and maintenance, asset management, field service management, or account management) or 3+ years total in any part of the solar industry
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, G Suite, and CRM applications like Zendesk or Salesforce
• Experience in monitoring solar DAS platforms and interpreting solar system design drawings

• Some experience with the DAS platform Green Power Monitoring
