Position Summary
The Electronic Resources & Assessment Librarian provides strategic oversight and technical support for mission critical library resources and platforms. Key responsibilities include overseeing the library’s subscription budget, maintain an electronic resources portfolio that supports the curriculum of North Park, providing technical support to library patrons, and improving the user experience of the library’s website and discovery system. This works with the Library Director to implement an assessment strategy that provides timely access to key metrics on the library’s effectiveness across all departments.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the library’s databases, e-books, e-journals, streaming media, and other web-based content by configuring and assessing trials, activating, customizing, and renewing/canceling, all the above.
  • Oversee the library’s subscription budget line to ensure the money is spent strategically to support the full range of NPU programs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electronic resource access issues in a timely manner
  • Monitor compliance of all library licenses and contracts for digital information
  • Administer the various parts of the library’s digital infrastructure including the integrated library system, the resource sharing systems, and the patron authentication system
  • Run statistical reports for the library and analyzes data for digital collections
  • Work with University Marketing and Communications to develop and support the library’s web presence and ensure all external resources successfully integrate with it
  • Proactively seek to improve the user experience of library patrons using library platforms
  • Manage the library’s assessment and ticketing systems to ensure patrons receive responses in a timely manner, transaction and teaching data are collected properly, and library administrators have access to performance dashboards
  • Participate in the library’s efforts to provide effective reference services to students, faculty, and staff at their point of need
  • Assist with non-digital collection projects including cataloging, weeding, and inventory projects
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • An MLIS degree or equivalent from an ALA-accredited school.
  • Personal commitment to North Park’s mission of Christian higher education.
  • Ability to master evolving computer systems and improve workflows.
  • Experience working with diverse university students; academic library experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills

Salary Range: 57,000-65,000
