ABOUT THE ROLE :

In the highly competitive world of sports, it's critical to use effective marketing strategies to communicate offerings to a diverse audiences and communities. Nielsen Sports provides essential services to clients, helping them to measure, analyse, and interpret the effectiveness of their investments, and to make sound strategic decisions.


As part of the International Consulting group at Nielsen Sports, you will be working closely with many of the world’s largest sports and entertainment rights holders, brands, agencies and broadcasters across the globe, helping them find right answers to any commercial challenges.


Our projects are wide and varied, spanning commercial strategy, rights package creation and go-to-market strategies, event impact analysis, sponsorship evaluation and ROI modelling and broadcast rights valuation.In addition to your analytical skills, you'll have excellent problem definition, strategic planning and story lining skills and be able to turn your analysis results into compelling stories that deliver meaningful insights and added value to our clients.


The role is based in Milano, we encourage everyone to work from there to learn from and connect with colleagues. However, we have adopted a flexible working approach and therefore the opportunity to work in a hybrid mode is available for those wanting to do so.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently analysing information and presenting to clients with experienced team.
  • members. You'll be able to analyse data and turn it into compelling stories that deliver meaningful insights and added value to our clients.
  • Work across different types of market research projects including single country / multi country ad hoc / tracking / syndicated.
  • Develop an understanding of our client's challenges and needs, and the solutions that help them achieve their business objectives.
  • Contribute to create trusted and long-term relationships with defined clients.
  • Use existing project planning tools, project management and capacity planning tools, to implement and track your own projects.
  • Working closely across all Nielsen Sports and external data sources to build compelling bespoke analysis which directly address the key strategic questions of our clients.
  • Continuously expand your knowledge of our clients, the sports business landscape, and the media and advertising industry to provide the most effective solutions to our clients.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our services and products by adopting and implementing automation of our processes and services.


Key Skills:
  • Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken)
  • 4 years’ experience as a strategy and/or management consultant at a top consulting firm or a top entity operating in the sport industry, delivering client analytical projects, using project management platforms and managing diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, particularly Powerpoint and Excel.
  • Good competence using Business Intelligence tools/platforms, such as Power BI is a bonus.
  • Good grounding in custom research principles, methodologies, statistical techniques.
  • Previous experience of using Digital Analytics tools is preferrable.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in business administration, sports management, marketing or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of the global media and sports ecosystem, how it is measured and how advertisers, media, platforms.
