OUR ORGANIZATION & TEAM
Meals on Wheels of Takoma Park/Silver Spring is nothing without its people: about 250 clients each year; 150+ volunteers; 8 staff. Staff are a lively group of dedicated nonprofit professionals, and we work closely to ensure operations run smoothly. As a direct service organization, we are very busy, but we also make room for fun. In a typical day, the morning is punctuated with friendly greetings from our volunteers coming and going as joking, laughter, and wonderful smells from the day’s meal waft in from the kitchen. Afternoons are quieter after meals have been delivered and we focus on our respective projects. We work hard, and our work is imbued with shared camaraderie.
