Senior Policy Manager

Hinge is the dating app designed to be deleted

In today's digital world, finding genuine relationships is tougher than ever. At Hinge, we’re on a mission to inspire intimate connection to create a less lonely world. We’re obsessed with understanding our users’ behaviors to help them find love, and our success is defined by one simple metric– setting up great dates. With tens of millions of users across the globe, we’ve become the most trusted way to find a relationship, for all.

About the Role

Hinge is seeking a Lead Policy Manager to help shape, implement, and scale platform policies that protect users, ensure compliance, and strengthen the integrity of our community. This is a player-coach role, meaning you’ll contribute directly to strategic policy work and have the potential to manage and mentor a small, high-impact team in the future.

This role acts as a key liaison between our parent company and Hinge, translating high-level policies into actionable, user-appropriate platform policies and guidance. You’ll also ensure operational readiness and guide how policies are implemented across moderation, operations, and product teams.

This role offers meaningful opportunities for direct impact on how Hinge keeps its community safe and policies enforceable at scale, while also offering growth potential—whether through people leadership, high-visibility cross-functional work, or expanding influence in how AI and regulation shape our platform’s future.

Responsibilities
  • Translate high-level platform and regulatory requirements into clear, scalable content and safety policies.
  • Ensure effective implementation of policies across moderation, product, and operations.
  • Lead development of enforcement guidance and documentation aligned with internal tooling.
  • Contribute to responsible AI governance, ensuring automated enforcement aligns with platform principles and mitigates risk.
  • Future potential to manage and coach a small team, balancing individual contributions with people leadership. In near term, serve more as a peer mentor for more junior team members and take the lead on all things policy
  • Coordinate the full policy lifecycle across internal and parent company stakeholders—from drafting to rollout to iteration.
  • Use data and enforcement trends to assess policy performance and proactively adapt approaches.
  • Facilitate cross-functional planning and training to support adoption, clarity, and operational excellence.

What We’re Looking For
  • 6+ years of experience in policy development, trust & safety, legal, compliance, or platform governance.
  • Experience managing or mentoring others in player-coach or team lead roles.
  • Deep expertise in policy writing or implementation, operational scaling, and system design for policy enforcement.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and risk evaluation, especially using enforcement and system-level data.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven enforcement risks such as false positives, bias, and transparency challenges.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management across technical, legal, and product audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Trust & Safety policy for an online platform.
  • Knowledge of platform regulations (e.g., DSA, GDPR, transparency laws).
  • Background in law, public policy, operations, or compliance.
  • Experience scaling policy systems across global or third-party teams.
  • Master’s degree or relevant certifications a plus.
