Engineering Technician

World-class domestic manufacturing facilities allow MAT Industries to offer high-quality air compressors, air tools, and accessories to retailers under brands such as Powermate®, Industrial Air®, Industrial Air Contractor®, and Sanborn® as well as private labels. Our air compressors are sold through retailers, including major home centers, hardware co-ops, independents, and farm and fleet stores around the US.

This individual will work closely with the Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Groups. Their daily tasks will include

• Driving process improvements in pancake assembly, welding, and paint
• Assist with developing employee training materials
• Support with troubleshooting on day-to-day issues.
• Assist engineering in building product samples for endurance testing, marketing samples, or other purposes as necessary

• Able to work safely and follow all MAT safety procedures.
• Must have a background in manufacturing with the ability to identify potential assembly issues on new products and revisions.
• Must have a good mechanical aptitude and a strong ability to troubleshoot welding, painting, and assembly processes.
• Well-versed in continuous improvement methodologies and able to implement them effectively and sustainably.
• Detail-oriented, able to discern small changes in product performance and document the nature of those changes.
• Self-motivated and capable of completing assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Must have exceptional organizational and communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Familiarity with all Microsoft Office tools a plus.
• Associate's Degree /Technical Certificate related to Engineering is a plus.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use simple gauges.
