Locus Fermentation Solutions (Locus FS) is a leading biotechnology company focused on developing and commercializing high-performance, environmentally friendly biosurfactants and biochemicals. Our solutions drive efficiency and sustainability across industries such as agriculture, oil & gas, and industrial applications.

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support our accounting operations, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, experience with NetSuite ERP, and excellent attention to detail. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions and maintaining financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Operations & Compliance

• Process daily transactions, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
• Prepare journal entries and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
• Manage the check run process, including vendor payments and employee reimbursements.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and financial adjustments.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal financial controls.

Cash Management & Financial Support

• Monitor cash flow and assist in forecasting cash needs.
• Support cash disbursements and assist in treasury functions as needed.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions to support liquidity.

ERP & Systems Management (NetSuite)

• Enter and maintain financial data within NetSuite ERP, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with system improvements and automation efforts to optimize efficiency.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Assist in preparing financial reports, balance sheets, and income statements.
• Work with the Controller to analyze financial data and ensure accuracy.
• Provide support for external audits, tax reporting, and compliance reviews.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a fast-growing company, or for big four accounting firms.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP is highly preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, reconciliations, data analysis).

• Knowledge of GAAP, reconciliations, and financial reporting best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
