In this role, you will ensure that all parts meet stringent aerospace and defense tolerances and quality standards, while teaching best practices in measurement and inspection to program participants.

Key Responsibilities:

    • CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)
    • Optical comparators
    • Surface roughness testers
    • Precision gauges, micrometers, and calipers
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and inspection plans.
  • Perform first‑article inspections, in‑process checks, and final part verifications.
  • Document inspection results, generate quality reports, and log nonconformances.
  • Develop and lead hands‑on training modules on measurement techniques, equipment operation, and data analysis for small manufacturers and individual trainees.
  • Create training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and job aids for quality lab processes.
  • Coach trainees on establishing repeatable measurement processes and interpreting inspection data.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying measurement process improvements and cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and customer requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Metrology, or a related technical field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience operating CMMs and other precision metrology equipment in a medical device, aerospace, or defense environment is a plus.
  • Proficiency with GD&T principles and inspection documentation.
  • Familiarity with common metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso) is a plus.
  • Strong manual measurement skills with gauges, calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to teach technical concepts clearly.
  • Detail‑oriented mindset and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced manufacturing and training environment.
