Regional Director of Practice Operations, Central Region

On-Site Requirements: Hybrid (must reside in the Greater Chicago Area) 

Schedule: Full-Time 

 

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and operationally minded leader to serve as the Regional Director of Practice Operations for our Central Region. This individual will oversee multi-site operations across Illinois and Texas, directly managing a team of Practice Managers and leading the day-to-day performance and long-term growth of their respective clinics. The Regional Director will partner closely with the Regional Medical Director and Regional Clinical Director as dyad partners to ensure seamless integration of clinical quality and operational excellence. 

  

The ideal candidate is a seasoned healthcare leader with a strong background in managing managers, scaling operations, and aligning strategic objectives with measurable outcomes. They bring financial acumen, deep people leadership experience, and thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments. 

  

This role reports directly to the Head of Practice Operations. 


Responsibilities
  • Regional Leadership: Oversee operations and performance across clinics in the Central Region, including direct management of Practice Managers. Drive consistent execution of operational standards and culture. 
  • Clinical Partnership: Serve as a dyad partner to the Regional Medical Director and a triad partner with the Regional Clinical Director to ensure clinical and operational alignment. 
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Partner with clinical and operational stakeholders to implement initiatives that elevate quality, improve outcomes, and drive operational efficiency. 
  • Program Development & Implementation: Identify, develop, and implement scalable operational programs to improve patient access, staff efficiency, and clinic performance. Partner cross-functionally to ensure successful rollout, adoption, and continuous improvement of new initiatives across all regional sites. 
  • Leadership & Talent Development: Coach and develop Practice Managers, foster cross-functional collaboration, and build a strong regional culture. 
  • P&L Management: Own full regional P&L, partnering with finance and clinical leadership to drive revenue growth, cost efficiency, and margin optimization across all sites. Use data to assess performance at the clinic level and guide operational and strategic decisions. 
  • Operational Excellence: Standardize workflows, support clinic expansion, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations across the region. 
  • Technology & Infrastructure: Support adoption of systems and tools that enhance care delivery, streamline operations, and improve the staff and patient experience. 
  • Compliance: Ensure all clinics meet internal policy requirements and state/federal healthcare regulations. 
  • Performance Monitoring: Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess clinic operations, flag issues early, and drive accountability. 
  • Patient Experience: Champion knownwell’s values by ensuring each clinic delivers inclusive, high-quality, and patient-centered care. 


Requirements:
  • Minimum: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field 
  • 7+ years of healthcare operations experience, including 3+ years in multi-site leadership 
  • Proven experience managing managers and leading multi-state healthcare operations across both in-person clinic and telehealth settings. 
  • Strong financial acumen, including P&L ownership and KPI management 
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and strategic planning skills 
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid role with regular on-site presence in the Greater Chicago area 
  • Experience collaborating closely with clinical leadership in a dyad or triad model 
  • Familiarity with EHR systems; Athena experience preferred 

  • Preferred: 
  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or public health 
  • Background in obesity medicine, weight management, or chronic care delivery 
  • Experience leading interdisciplinary care teams across both virtual and in-person settings 
  • Track record of driving operational and clinical improvements in high-growth or startup environments 


$140,000 - $165,000 a year
