Vice President, Marketing & Public Relations

The Vice President, Marketing and Public Relations will lead the strategic direction and execution of the company’s marketing, public relations, and commercial communications. This role will oversee brand strategy, product marketing, public awareness, and corporate visibility, while also setting the course for commercial execution through an outsourced sales force. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in life sciences marketing, strong media and advocacy relationships, and a track record of working cross-functionally to build commercial momentum in a resource-efficient environment.

As Vice President, Marketing and Public Relations you will own responsibilities in the following areas:

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute an integrated marketing strategy to support brand awareness, product launches, and overall corporate visibility.
  • Drive positioning, messaging, and branding for marketed products and pipeline assets.
  • Oversee multichannel marketing initiatives including digital, print, content, and event strategies.
  • Lead strategic planning and execution of commercial campaigns, including HCP and patient engagement tactics.

Public Relations, Advocacy & KOL Engagement

  • Lead corporate communications and public relations strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with media, advocacy organizations, medical societies, and thought leaders.
  • Cultivate and engage key opinion leaders (KOLs) to support scientific messaging and market education.
  • Partner with patient advocacy groups to shape messaging and ensure alignment with patient needs and community values.
  • Act as spokesperson as needed and prepare company executives for public, media, and conference appearances.

Commercial Strategy & Sales Team Oversight

  • Set strategic direction for outsourced sales team operations, including sales targeting, messaging alignment, and performance metrics.

  • The highest standards of accuracy and quality in all work across department, including brand collateral, project management, and reporting.    
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills, with ability to impactfully communicate across audiences - KOLs, patient-facing, and internally.    
  • Demonstrated ability to introduce and prioritize initiatives while anticipating future needs in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.    
  • A commitment to facilitating an inclusive work environment.

To be considered for the position, you must have:

  • Degree in marketing or communications; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.    
  • Minimum 15 years of experience within Marketing with increasing responsibility, including at the Executive level.    
  • 10+ years of experience specifically within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.    
  • Experience in branded pharmaceutical product marketing to patients.
