Role Overview:
As an Account Manager at K1X, you will serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients in the tax and financial services space. Your focus will be on driving retention, identifying opportunities for growth, and ensuring a high level of product engagement. This is a client-facing role that requires a deep understanding of tax workflows and the ability to build strong, consultative relationships. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Client Success, Product, and Finance to help clients realize the full value of our platform.
- Own and manage a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and renewal.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their tax processes and aligning our solutions to meet their goals.
- Monitor account health metrics and usage trends to proactively mitigate risks and uncover opportunities for upsell or expansion.
- Partner with Sales to support cross-sell initiatives and close renewals.
- Lead client negotiations and execute on renewals, scope changes, and upsell agreements.
- Work alongside the Client Success and Product teams to analyze feedback and usage data, driving strategic product adoption and improved user experience.
- Maintain accurate revenue forecasts and contribute to overall growth strategy.
- 3–5 years of experience in Account Management or Sales, ideally within a tax technology company or related SaaS platform.
- Deep understanding of tax workflows, tax reporting (especially K-1 or similar), and the needs of tax professionals and their clients.
- Proven track record of managing revenue-driving relationships, including deal-making and contract negotiations.
- Experience working in a startup or fast-growth tech environment is highly preferred.
- Background in financial technology or enterprise software with complex client requirements.
- Strong proficiency with client success tools like Gainsight, Hubspot, and CRM systems.
- Analytical and data-driven, with experience using tools for client reporting, forecasting, and health metrics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and simplify complex concepts.
