Salary Range: $140-$190k + annual bonus eligible

Location: Washington, D.C. or NYC 

Our in-office team comes together to collaborate in our Dupont Circle offices Tuesday through Thursday and works from home Monday and Friday.

Your Mission: 

You will serve as a trusted partner to the executive team, championing the design and implementation of people-focused strategies that drive organizational performance and employee satisfaction. You will be focusing on enhancing our workplace culture, improving employee engagement, and establishing scalable HR practices to support our rapid growth. By leveraging your expertise in HR operations, organizational development, and compliance, you will shape our talent strategy and contribute to a workplace where every team member can excel. 


You will report to Christy Freer, our General Counsel and Head of People.

You will have worked closely with our legal team to ensure that current policies and practices are in line with legal requirements and best support our employees and company overall. What You're Responsible For:
  • Oversee compensation strategies, including salary benchmarking, pay equity analysis, and benefits optimization and administration. 
  • Provide guidance on workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational structure to ensure scalability and flexibility. 
  • Collaborate with the executive team to create and execute strategic HR initiatives that align with the company’s mission and goals. 
  • Establish and refine HR policies, working with legal and our PEO to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws. 
  • Champion change management efforts to support organizational transitions and new initiatives. 
  • Build and manage training programs to enhance leadership skills, professional development, and career growth. 
  • Serve as a culture steward, driving initiatives that enhance employee engagement and inclusion. 


Who You Are:
  • You have 8-15 years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in a leadership capacity within smaller/hyper-growth environments. 
  • You have experience in HR strategy, organizational design, training & development, and employee engagement & retention. 
  • You demonstrate a proven ability to lead and execute HR initiatives in dynamic, fast-paced, hyper-growth environments. 
  • You have a working knowledge of state-by-state employment legal issues and HR best practices. 
  • You are an effective collaborator who can work well with the members of our People Team, leadership team, and entire organization to accomplish goals. 
  • You possess a data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze HR metrics and present actionable recommendations 
  • You have exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with experience influencing senior leaders. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred. 
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred but not required. 


$140,000 - $190,000 a year
This role is alse eligible for an annual bonus
