Senior Project Manager

GNU Group (a division of Impec Group) specializes in delivering comprehensive environmental branding, architectural signage, and wayfinding strategy solutions. We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager – Signage & Wayfinding Strategy to lead strategy, planning, and execution of projects across various industries. This pivotal role is client-facing and integral to the success of our firm. Candidates who demonstrate initiative, leadership, and proven experience may grow into a principal-level position within the GNU Group.

The Senior Project Manager (SrPM) holds full authority and accountability for all aspects of a client engagement—from proposal through closeout. This includes overseeing project strategy, resource allocation, budgeting, scheduling, delivery, and client satisfaction. This role also plays a key part in internal leadership, thought leadership, and strategic growth of the firm.

Pay Range $95,000 to $120,000/annual, depending on qualifications and experience.

Position Senior Project Manager

Schedule hybrid position (1-2 days in the office) Flexibility is essential, as the role may involve responding promptly to urgent design changes or requests as they arise.

Project Planning & Execution

  • Lead the creation of detailed project work plans, including scope definition, timelines, resourcing, risk management, budget tracking, and quality control.
  • Monitor and manage projects using tools and dashboards; proactively update clients and leadership.
  • Track schedules to ensure alignment with shifting client needs and internal resources.
  • Develop contingency plans and ensure successful closeout, including lessons learned documentation.

Client Relationship & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain consistent client contact post-award to ensure satisfaction and deepen relationships.
  • Build strategic partnerships with key clients to support long-term collaboration and growth.
  • Create stakeholder engagement plans to manage expectations and foster alignment at every phase.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Collaborate with the Director of Project Management and fellow Project Managers (PMs) to support seamless project execution.
  • Mentor junior team members, provide peer feedback, and champion professional growth.
  • Cultivate a culture of transparency, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Technical & Financial Oversight

  • Ensure high-quality deliverables across all project phases.
  • Track project financials against plan, address variances, and maintain project profitability.

Project Controls & Reporting

  • Use project management tools to monitor scope, schedule, resources, and budget.
  • Generate and deliver regular status reports for both internal and external stakeholders.

Business Development

  • Participate in new business presentations and client interviews when needed.
  • Identify opportunities to add value within existing accounts and drive organic growth through service excellence.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in wayfinding, environmental branding, and architectural signage
  • At least 5 years’ experience leading healthcare wayfinding strategy & implementation
  • Proven ability to develop and execute project plans, including scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities
  • Highly organized with excellent time, risk, and project management skills
  • Detail-oriented with a sharp eye for design, accuracy, and quality
  • Deep understanding of Project Management disciplines, methodologies, and tools
  • Ability to adapt quickly to evolving project needs and provide sound decision-making under pressure
  • Proficient in reading architectural and engineering plans
  • Familiarity with ADA and CBC signage code
  • Knowledge of general contracting and architectural terminology and workflows
