RevOps Data Analyst

What We’re Building

Honeycomb is the observability platform for teams who manage software that matters. Send any data to our one-of-a-kind data store, solve problems with all the relevant context, and fix issues before your customers find them. Honeycomb is the unified, fast, and collaborative choice for engineering teams who care about customer experience to get the answers they need, quickly. We are passionate about consumer-quality developer tools and excited to build technology that raises our industry’s expectations of what our tools can do for us. We’re working with well known companies like HelloFresh, Slack, LaunchDarkly, and Vanguard and more across a range of industries. This is an exciting time in our trajectory, as we’ve closed Series D funding, scaled past the 200-person mark, and were named to Forbes’ America’s Best Startups of 2022 and 2023!

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Revenue Operations Data Analyst who can transform data into insights that drive impactful strategies across Marketing, Revenue, and Customer Success. This role is an opportunity to influence our go-to-market approach, customer journey, and overall business growth by providing data-driven clarity.

The role

We’re looking for a skilled data analyst who can tackle complex, broad questions and provide actionable insights. In this role, you won’t just be generating reports - you’ll be embedded in our GTM teams, connecting data points across the customer journey (marketing, sales, and customer success), and collaborating with finance and our data team to support aligned decision-making. If you enjoy making sense of open-ended scenarios and creating tools that make data accessible for everyone, this role will be a great fit.

Who We Are

We come for the impact, and stay for the culture! We’re a talented, opinionated, passionate, fiercely inclusive, and responsible group of bees. We have conviction and we strive to live our values every day. We want our people to do what they truly love amongst a team of highly talented (but humble) peers.

How We Work

We are a remote-first company, which means we believe it is not where you sit, but how you deliver that matters most. We invest in our people and care about how you orient to our culture and processes. At the same time we imbue a lot of trust, autonomy, and accountability from Day 1.

What you’ll do in the role:

Master the metrics that matter

- Take ownership of GTM metrics: You’ll analyze core metrics that guide our marketing, sales, and customer success teams, such as MQLs, marketing campaign influence, SQLs, pipeline health, customer retention, win rates, and more. Your insights will help teams focus on the metrics that drive the most impact.

- Generate insightful analysis for decision-making: When faced with broad business questions, you’ll dig into the data to uncover insights that empower leaders to make well-informed choices and identify next steps. Your analyses will clarify complex issues and drive alignment across GTM teams.

- Build self-service tools that empower: Create user-friendly tools in Excel and BI platforms that allow teams to independently access key insights, streamlining data access and improving efficiency.

Connect the dots across the customer journey

- Deliver actionable, big-picture insights: With an understanding of GTM metrics, you’ll connect data across functions to help teams see a comprehensive view of our customer journey, identifying what drives success across marketing, sales, customer success, and finance.

- Communicate insights effectively: Present data in straightforward, accessible ways that resonate with both technical and non-technical audiences. Your findings will inspire alignment and guide actionable change.

- Create scalable processes: Develop repeatable analysis methods for common metrics, reducing bottlenecks and enabling faster access to critical insights.

Proactively support performance and improvement

- Spot gaps and opportunities early: Monitor key metrics to identify potential issues and areas of opportunity before they become pressing, allowing teams to act proactively and stay on track with objectives.

- Recommend solutions that drive improvement: Go beyond identifying trends by offering suggestions and strategies that support continuous growth, performance improvement, and Kaizen across GTM, Finance, and Data teams.

What you’ll bring to the role:

- 3-5 years of experience working closely with GTM teams (Marketing, Sales, Customer Success) as well as other important partners like Finance, Data, and Product in a fast-paced, startup environment, ideally within B2B SaaS.

- Excellent Excel/Google Sheets skills, with advanced proficiency in creating models, managing large datasets, and leveraging pivot tables and formulas to support data analysis.

- Experience in accessing, manipulating, and visualizing data using SQL and BI tools, with the ability to build dashboards that drive insights and decision-making across teams.

- GTM metrics knowledge: Strong understanding of core GTM metrics, including MQLs, marketing campaign influence, SQLs, pipeline health, retention, win rates, and more, and how these metrics impact business outcomes.

- Analytical and solution-oriented: Ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights that directly impact strategy.

- Great communicator: Skilled at presenting complex data in accessible language, with a focus on insights that drive decision-making.
