Kitchen and Bath Design Specialist

We are currently seeking an outgoing, detail-oriented individual to work as a Kitchen and Bath Design Specialist. This onsite position will work within our Royal Oak Showroom with Remodelers, Builders and Multi-unit customers on kitchen and bath designs. 

The Designer is responsible for the direct interaction with customers seeking creative assistance in designing kitchens and baths as well as information about our products and services.

Key responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Primary focus on Residential Contractors, Builders and Remodelers and their clients
  • Provide hands on design to ensure layout/product fits their vision and budget.
  • Work directly with homeowners in the showroom referred to by our clients; help them close sales.
  • Work directly with walk-in homeowners in need of design and products; align them with one of our contractors and/or fabricators as needed.
  • Specify counter tops, vanity tops, shower surrounds or coordinate with fabricator to use our products.
  • Generate and present plans, views, elevations and renderings to clients and homeowners.
  • Complete Design Packets for Outside Sales Team
  • Assist prospective new customers with filling out application forms and submitting to Accounting Team
  • Work with Customer Service Team to help HJO account holders place orders.
  • Track and follow up with sales using ACT! Contact Management System
  • Execute various projects and tasks assigned in a timely manner.

  • College Graduate or equivalent work experience in Interior Design, Architectural or Construction field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Kitchen and Bath Design role working directly with customers (knowledge of installation is a plus)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in 2020 Design
  • Familiar with CRM programs
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and listening)
  • Proactive problem solving
  • Ability to self-manage and maintain multiple projects at a time.
