Responsibilities

• Confirm patients’ identities and review physician orders prior to procedures
• Operate X-ray equipment to produce radiographic images in accordance with written orders
• Explain procedures clearly to patients and address questions or concerns
• Position patients correctly and safely, including assisting those with mobility limitations
• Apply protective lead shields to minimize radiation exposure
• Ensure X-ray images meet quality standards to avoid the need for retakes
• Collaborate with the Radiologist to determine the need for additional imaging
• Monitor and maintain imaging equipment, reporting any issues promptly
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of completed procedures

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology, Radiology, or a related field
• Active New York State Radiologic Technologist License
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification is preferred
• Prior medical background (e.g., EMT, CMA, Medical Assistant) is a plus
• Excellent communication and patient care skills
