Our client is seeking a Senior QA Engineer with expertise in testing Unity-based applications and containerized services within Kubernetes environments. This role involves ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of a digital twin solution for 3D visualization, as well as the supporting suite of services.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in functional, non-functional, and performance testing, coupled with experience in automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and working with containerized applications.
Assess VMware TKG-based infrastructure and validate compatibility with VMware vSphere for testing.
Develop testing strategies covering functional, non-functional, and performance aspects, ensuring compliance with DoD STIG and ATO requirements.
Review network and system architectures to create a robust testing plan.
Conduct comprehensive functional testing of product and related services, including annotations, links, and dashboard functionality in multi-user 3D environments.
Execute non-functional testing for scalability, reliability, and performance of containerized services such as Elasticsearch, MinIO, Keycloak, and RabbitMQ.
Perform regression testing using CI/CD pipelines to ensure stability post-updates.
Load test critical services like Sync-Service, Matchmaker, and RabbitMQ under high-user conditions to measure throughput, latency, and resource utilization.
Measure GPU and CPU usage during 3D rendering and validate performance metrics such as frame rates.
Work with cross-functional teams to automate testing using tools like GameDriver (Unity) and Postman (APIs).
Provide weekly and monthly progress reports summarizing testing outcomes, identified issues, and recommendations for improvement.
Document testing workflows and results and conduct training sessions for client IT staff on CI/CD integration and testing tools.
Required Skills
5+ years of experience in QA engineering with a focus on functional, non-functional, and performance testing.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes environments, particularly VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG).
Strong proficiency in testing Unity-based applications and containerized services.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
Expertise in automation frameworks such as GameDriver (for Unity) and Postman (for API testing).
Experience with cloud-native services like Elasticsearch, Keycloak, and MinIO.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving defects.
Desired Skills
Experience scripting in Python for test automation and custom solutions.
Knowledge of GPU/CPU performance testing and optimization for 3D rendering.
Exposure to U.S. DoD compliance requirements.
Familiarity with database testing for Postgres in high-concurrency environments.
Contract will last approximately 12 weeks. Role is remote with a possibility of minimal travel to client's onsite Florida location.
