Your team

Your new team is a group of motivated, collaborative, and innovative Engineers. Your mission


Our mission is to empower product teams by providing scalable, maintainable, and forward-thinking solutions that support the rapid development and evolution of our platform. As we scale and mature our systems, the Backend Platform team plays a pivotal role in driving the architectural foundations and backend infrastructure that enable performance, security, and developer efficiency across the company.


We’re looking for a strong technical and people-oriented leader to guide our backend platform team. You’ll help shape the team's strategic direction, foster a high-performing engineering culture, and ensure our core platform evolves in alignment with product and business needs. This role is about bridging the gap between big-picture architecture and pragmatic implementation, while supporting engineers to grow and thrive in their roles.


Your responsibilities
  • Lead and support a team of backend engineers by fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and growth-oriented environment.
  • Understand individual motivations and strengths to guide engineers in their personal and professional development.
  • Align the team’s efforts with broader company goals by prioritizing initiatives that deliver business impact.
  • Drive and shape the platform team’s strategy, ensuring our architecture evolves to meet future product demands.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to identify platform opportunities and challenges.
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and provide clear technical direction, supporting design, troubleshooting, or mentoring as needed to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Foster engineering best practices and continuously refine team processes through Agile methodologies (e.g., Kanban or Scrum).
  • Take ownership of cross-cutting concerns such as observability, scalability, developer experience, and platform standards.
  • Take an active role in implementation—coding, reviewing, and delivering backend solutions is a large part of this position.


Your Story
  • You can work remotely from anywhere in Switzerland or join us on-site in our St. Gallen office, with the flexibility to choose your best work environment.
  • You have experience with PHP or are comfortable working in a PHP-based environment.
  • You’re a strong technical leader with deep backend engineering experience and a proven ability to operate at both architectural and implementation levels.
  • You’re a hands-on engineer with a proven track record in backend development.
  • You’re a strategic thinker who can shape and evolve team direction while maintaining a high standard of execution.
  • You have a passion for mentoring and supporting people’s growth, with a focus on long-term success and sustainable delivery.
  • You’re a clear communicator and team player who understands the balance between business goals and engineering excellence.
  • You speak English fluently.
