Abstract, code, sequence, and interpret clinical information from various medical records
Assign correct principal and secondary diagnoses and procedure codes with accurate sequencing
Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and ensure quality coding standards are met
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding experience in a large acute care facility (at least 700 beds)
Certification as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS
Experience with Cerner and a CAC; Optum eCAC experience preferred
Successful completion of an AAPC or AHIMA-approved Coding Certificate Program
Able to work 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday, during specified hours
