Account Manager II (Business Development)

What's the role all about?

Join our dynamic team as a cutting-edge Account Manager and play a key role in expanding our customers! As a Flock sales expert, you will be an integral part of a team of cross-functional sales professionals who are highly skilled in building deep relationships with our customers, growing wallet share, and increasing our gross profit dollars as a firm. 

As an Account Manager, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can make a tangible impact. You will be responsible for understanding the unique needs of our customers and expanding our business by focusing on quote growth, contractual and spot opportunities, and exceeding service expectations.

What does the day-to-day look like?

Expanding our business:

  • Partnering with our Account Executives to support our relationships with customers, particularly by servicing day-to-day customer needs
  • Conducting weekly touch points and engagement strategies with our key decision makers to identify expansion opportunities, proactively upsell, and ensure maximum wallet share
  • Maximizing profitability for the firm by quoting and strategically accepting or rejecting freight
  • Arranging and hosting quarterly business reviews with your key decision-makers

Operating our business:

  • Extreme ownership of the daily freight factory operational execution; quote through invoice
    • Own the day-to-day operational needs and requirements of your customers, including handling escalations and resolving issues quickly
    • Focused on load board management, coverage execution, escalation management, and timely issue resolution
    • Ensuring operational execution for successful billing including; rate management, fuel surcharges, accessorial agreements, and resolving any outstanding billing issues, collections, or credit needs
    • Maintain SOPs for all customers, ensure service expectations are met, and execute on CAP plans as necessary

Demonstrating expertise:

  • Possess deep knowledge of client's needs, challenges, communication styles, roles, and key decision-makers within each organization.
  • Utilize relationship-building skills to delight our customers and ensure consistent delivery of KPIs and service metrics. 

What qualifications do I need to succeed in this role?

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-2 years of Account Management experience: Freight industry experience required
  • Clear and concise communication
  • Flexibility to work after-hours, weekend shifts, and holidays as needed


The expected on-target earnings for this role range from $85,000 - $95,000 per year. This range reflects typical earning potential in this role. When determining an offer, we take into account a variety of factors that are important in making compensation decisions including, but not limited, to: skill sets; experience and tenure; education and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is based on market data. Salary bands may, in some circumstances, be adjusted to a different geographic area depending on the candidate's position and location.
