Please note this role will be based in our Cape Town office on Tuesdays and Wednesday

Euromonitor International is currently hiring for an Associate Consultant to join its Cape Town office full-time.   The Associate Consultant will lead or support the research through unique autonomy in project design and client management. S/he will also work closely with our syndicated Industry experts to bring our best in client service and industry knowledge.

 

The role will report to a Consulting Manager in Cape Town with day-to-day reporting for specific projects to other Consultants primarily but not limited to the MEAI and European region. The primary function of the AC role is to successfully execute the strategic objectives of custom research projects from our clients.

 

Euromonitor works with the leading industry players across different verticals and provides a diverse set of custom research solutions. The individual must be a self-starting, critical thinker with a structured yet creative approach to problem solving and an eye for detail. The successful candidate must be willing able to take full personal responsibility for delivering projects to high standards and client satisfaction.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Plan projects, develop briefs, and support materials.
  • Deliver insights to solve client problems using effective tools.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Manage analysts, including communication, scheduling, and payments.
  • Collaborate with recruiters to ensure adequate project resourcing.
  • Ensure quality control of all materials and data analysis.
  • Liaise with regional colleagues to align on goals and timelines.
  • Maintain project folders and materials for accessibility.
  • Conduct primary interviews with trade associations and companies.
  • Perform secondary research using in-house and external resources.
  • Utilize mixed methods to answer client questions.
  • Collaborate across functions and share new resources.
  • Communicate with clients from project start to completion.
  • Develop professional documents for C-suite audiences.
  • Present findings confidently to clients.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Engage in business development activities with commercial teams.

What you’ll need:

  • Education / background in finance, economics, business, social sciences, engineering or similar with proven research, consulting and/or analytics expertise with at least 2-3 years of work experience in an agency or client environment
  • Industry experience in consumer or trade sectors and niche topic areas like sustainability desired, with an ability to build strategic analysis, presentations and report writing
  • Experience evaluating, manipulating, and analysing data sets from different sources
  • A curious and commercial mindset – you are keen to learn and understand things from a client’s point of view
  • Ability to work in a high-paced challenging environment, to manage multiple projects and to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English - Fluency in French/Portuguese will be an advantage
  • Advanced MS Office Computer skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Knowledge of other research methodologies or data analytics is a PLUS
