Freelance Social Media Video Producer (Detroit Area – Contract Role)

About the Role:

ELM | Positive Leader is seeking a Freelance Social Media Video Producer to help us create engaging, high-quality video content for our social media channels. This role involves directing on-camera talent, scripting and staging scenes, and ensuring that our videos are dynamic and aligned with our brand voice. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and experienced in short-form video production for digital platforms.

• Plan, direct, and produce short-form video content (reels, interviews, behind-the-scenes clips, etc.) for social media.
• Guide on-camera talent, ensuring natural and engaging performances.
• Develop rough scripts and staging concepts to maximize video effectiveness.
• Oversee video shoots, ensuring proper lighting, audio, and framing.
• Collaborate with our marketing team to align video content with brand messaging.
• Edit and deliver final videos in formats optimized for social media platforms.
• Provide recommendations on locations, props, and visual storytelling elements.
• Manage video storage and organization, delivering assets in an efficient manner.

• Proven experience in social media video production, directing, and editing.
• Strong understanding of social media trends and best practices for video content.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, creative environment.
• Access to professional video equipment and editing software.
• Experience working with talent and giving on-camera direction.
• Portfolio of previous social medial video projects (preferably social media content).
