POSITION SUMMARY
eGenesis is seeking a Facilities & Laboratory Operations Associate to join the Operations team at our Indiana Designated Pathogen Free (DPF) facility and Source Animal Facility (SAF). As part of the broader Operations team, you will be a point of contact for the Indiana site’s Operations team and while working closely with team members at our other sites in Wisconsin and Massachusetts. Your day-to-day responsibilities will be critical to the smooth and efficient function of this cGMP facility including ordering and maintaining inventory, shipping, receiving, movement of materials, and coordinating equipment maintenance. This role is an opportunity for a solutions-oriented person who loves learning and wants to be part of a team. This role is a Monday through Friday onsite position with occasional responsibility to respond to after-hours needs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Coordinate the logistics of material movement, visitors and contractors in and out of the site with department managers and property owners (biosecurity)
- Coordinate with outside vendors to perform preventive maintenance on key equipment and keep accurate records of that maintenance in the CMMS
- Create purchase orders and submit invoices to finance on a weekly basis
- Ship and Receive packages following cGMP SOPs for registration and labeling
- Load/unload materials from warehouse into the facility
- Order and maintain the inventory of consumables for lab, kitchen and facilities
- Serve as site EH&S coordinator, you will be the primary contact for our safety consultant and regulated waste vendors
- Actively work with broader Operations team members to minimize technical and safety gaps
- Follow cGMP SOP’s for operations associated tasks when necessary
- Other tasks and responsibilities as necessary
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Ability to accurately follow an SOP with demonstrated interest in learning cGMP requirements
- Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office. Experience with inventory management and procurement systems is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Lead with a customer service mindset
- Team player with the ability to work with a diverse group of people in a dynamic environment
- Ability to occasionally work evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, shift a minimum 50lb
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in different environments, including shop, office, and animal husbandry environments in varying weather conditions. This position requires physical demands such as climbing, stooping, crouching, sitting on equipment such as lawnmowers and tractors for extended periods, and handling/moving swine throughout the facilities. Employees are regularly expected to lift objects 30-60lbs multiple times throughout the day.
