Product Owner

To be a key member of the Product team, an experienced Product Owner is required to build a complete understanding of the ecosystem in which we operate, create detailed requirements for product features and drive the prioritisation of these into the Engineering teams and through the software development lifecycle to completion.

TYPICAL DUTIES

  • Collaboration with engineers, projects, and sales/marketing teams to translate business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria for the engineering teams to implement
  • Developing and maintaining an appropriately prioritised backlog of user stories for implementation
  • Working with stakeholders to help determine priorities for product development cycles
  • Working with engineers to ensure that they understand the vision for the product and are designing reusable, robust features
  • Writing appropriately detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for product features so that they are clearly understood by the engineering teams
  • Acting as an ambassador for the product internally and externally, and as the primary contact for queries related to the product from Sales, Projects and Operations
  • Working with key stakeholders across the company to ensure successful, timely product releases
  • Running appropriate requirement acceptance and backlog prioritisation sessions with the key stakeholders
  • Contributing to the mid/longer term product vision and direction
  • Inspecting Sprint outcomes to ensure what has been asked for has been delivered
  • Supporting the engineers during the sprint cycles by answering queries and being the voice of the customer
  • Actively seeking out improvements to ways of working

YOU HAVE

  • Background in Information Technology and experience working with APIs
  • Experience of requirements gathering & user story creation
  • Experience of planning, facilitating & leading workshops & meetings to deliver an agreed outcome
  • The analytical skills needed to analyse market/customer requirements & influence product roadmap
  • Strong communication & presentation skills
  • Excellent planning & prioritisation skills
  • Excellent specification / technical writing skills, with the ability to write clearly & concisely in a way that can be understood by both commercial & technical departments
  • An understanding of the retail and/or hospitality technology space
  • Experience working with POS systems, desirable
  • The ability to adapt quickly to change & be flexible
