About the role:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Head of Legal to join our expanding team - who wants to work at a growth stage company, and is excited by the opportunity to truly roll up their sleeves on everything from the most critical strategic matters to the details needed to run a company as the single-person (for now) legal team.  In this role, you will provide corporate legal advice, help lead strategic transactions, and contribute to our continued growth. • Assist in the oversight of Droit’s international operations, including researching and advising on local requirements.
  • Advise on and manage intellectual property matters, including patent, trademark, and copyright filings and enforcement.
  • Manage external legal counsel, as needed, to ensure cost-effective and high-quality legal representation.
  • Design, build, and improve internal legal processes to keep up with growth
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that legal and business objectives are aligned and met.
  • Monitor and keep the company informed of relevant legal developments and industry trends.

What we are looking for:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and an active member in good standing of at least one state bar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, preferably with a combination of law firm and in-house experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in corporate law and contracts matters.
  • Experience working with technology companies and major enterprise clients is a strong plus.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A proactive, business-minded approach to problem-solving, with a commitment to providing practical legal advice and solutions.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-growing entrepreneurial environment.

What we offer:

  • Competitive compensation, including retirement benefits, and equity in a scaling FinTech firm
  • Holistic benefits for you and your family to support your physical and mental health.
  • A commitment to growth through continuous feedback and experiences.
  • The opportunity to work in close-knit, global teams.
  • Flexibility for where you work and purpose for when we come together in person.
