Copywriter (Maternity Leave Coverage 5/15 - 8/22)

We are seeking a talented and versatile Contract Mid-Level Copywriter to join our team for a maternity leave coverage period beginning in May. This role will primarily focus on creating engaging and informative blog content for our CPG clients, driving brand awareness, and fostering consumer engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the CPG landscape, a knack for storytelling, and the ability to adapt their writing style to various brand voices.

Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation:
    • Write clear, concise, and compelling blog posts that align with client brand guidelines and marketing objectives.
    • Develop engaging content that educates, entertains, and inspires target audiences.
    • Craft blog posts that drive SEO performance and increase organic traffic.
    • Research industry trends, competitor content, and consumer insights to inform content strategy.
    • Collaborate with account managers and creative teams to ensure content aligns with overall campaign goals.
  • Brand Voice & Tone:
    • Maintain consistent brand voice and tone across all blog content.
    • Adapt writing style to suit different CPG categories and target demographics.
  • Content Management:
    • Manage content calendars and meet deadlines for blog post submissions.
    • Proofread and edit content for accuracy, grammar, and style.
    • Optimize blog posts for readability and user experience.
  • Collaboration:
    • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas.
    • Provide constructive feedback to team members.
    • Work with our SEO Strategist to ensure content is optimized.

  • 3-5 years of experience in copywriting, preferably with a focus on CPG brands (pay rate aligns with the level of experience).
  • Previous experience working at or with an advertising agency.
  • Must be able to provide a portfolio of previous work.
  • Proven ability to write engaging and effective blog content.
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and content optimization.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills.
