Behavioral Day Program Manager

The Behavior Day Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the day program services for adults with developmental disabilities. This includes evaluating prospective clients to determine the appropriate level of support and ensuring the successful execution of these services. This position requires strong case management, coordination, and communication skills, as well as

adherence to company and state guidelines, ensuring the delivery of person-centered, high-quality services.


Program & Case Management:
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of client cases, from intake through discharge, ensuring timely and quality service delivery.
  • Maintain and manage the referral waitlist, ensuring that clients' needs are met within appropriate timelines.
  • Conduct comprehensive day program and functional behavior assessments (when necessary) to determine client needs and level of support required.
  • Ensure the successful start-up of services, including training direct support staff and implementing program goals.
  • Develop and implement tracking systems for program and behavioral goals.
  • Create individualized service plans (ISPs) and ensure they are person-centered, focusing on client goals and outcomes.
  • Maintains all reporting such as special incident reports and progress updates.
  • Manage client schedules and program budgets.
  • Regularly monitor and assess client progress and make adjustments to programs as needed.
  • Coordinate care with clients' Regional Center Case Managers and support teams to ensure consistency and quality.


Staff Supervision and Development:
  • Manage and supervise direct support staff, providing at least two check-ins per client per week to monitor and support performance.
  • Provide minimum supervision (5%) to all Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).
  • Participate in recruitment and training for new hires to ensure they are aligned with the organization's standards and expectations.


Communication and Collaboration:
  • Effectively communicate program goals and expectations to clients, families, and employees.
  • Coordinate regular meetings with the Vice President of Operations and Behavioral Department leads to review progress, data collection, and client needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with community partners to enhance service opportunities for clients.


Compliance and Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure all operational procedures comply with company standards, program design guidelines, and relevant state and federal regulations (Title 17 & 22).
  • Continuously review and refine intake and program development processes to support ongoing improvements.


Licensure or Certification Requirements:
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral (BCBA-D) certification (must be completed and maintained).
  • Completion of the 8-hour supervision training and ongoing maintenance of supervisor status per BACB requirements.


Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Strong ability to take initiative, problem-solve, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks efficiently.
  • Experience working collaboratively with consumers, team members, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in G-Suite, email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other program tracking and record-keeping systems.
  • Clean criminal background.
  • Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid California driver's license, insurable driving record, and meet minimum state auto insurance requirements.


Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform First Aid/CPR in emergency situations.
  • Ability to assist clients during seizures, as needed.
  • Capable of pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 60 lbs.
