This is a full-time role and our selected candidate will be expected to work onsite, Monday through Friday, at our Brooklyn Park, MN Headquarters.

A day in the life:

As the Manufacturing & Process Engineer, you will be responsible for optimizing the utilization of equipment and materials to maximize production efficiency, while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and cost control.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research, build business cases, and implement capital expenditure projects and point-of-use material systems (e.g., Kanban) to optimize working capital utilization.
  • Assist in coordinating facility layouts, equipment maintenance, and the qualification of tooling.
  • Provide technical support to production teams, conducting root-cause analysis on technical issues, and implementing timely quality solutions.
  • Develop and recommend new processes and technologies aimed at enhancing product quality and cost-efficiency.
  • Adhere to established manufacturing techniques and equipment specifications, identifying process improvements and resolving issues where possible.
  • Offer technical guidance, training, and certification to operators, ensuring they have the necessary skills, documentation, tooling, and process control capabilities.
  • Design and procure custom manufacturing tooling to support production needs.
  • Manage and enhance monthly preventative maintenance procedures for all manufacturing equipment and related utilities (e.g., compressed air, HVAC, electrical systems).
  • Participate in the qualification and development of suppliers for components, sub-assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
  • Lead or participate in DV test protocols related to new products, designs, suppliers, or processes.
  • Manage and improve product labeling processes, focusing on streamlining methods for updating product labeling and artwork.
  • Support the utilization, programming updates, and software maintenance for the electronic Device History Record (eDHR) system.
  • Investigate and resolve Non-Conforming Material Reports (NMR) and corrective/preventative actions (CAPA) related to manufacturing.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager.

What we expect from you:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
  • 0 to 4 years of experience in manufacturing engineering
  • Proven experience in leading and contributing to project teams

What we would like to see:

  • Experience within the medical device industry
  • Familiarity with basic computer programming
  • Experience with medical device labeling and label printing software
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in project teams
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, demand flow technology, Kanban management, and/or Six Sigma tools
  • Experience in the manufacturing of implantable leads and implantable pulse generators (IPGs) used in implantable medical therapies
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing planning software and systems

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a cleanroom, R&D laboratory, and office environment (this is not a remote position)
  • Occasional lifting and movement of equipment, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Salary (or Hourly) range for U.S locations (USD): 85,000 - 100,000 per year.

The base salary range is applicable across the U.S., complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and specific location.
