Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and diagnose eye conditions.
  • Prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids based on patient needs.
  • Manage and treat conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy.
  • Educate patients on eye health, preventive measures, and proper care of their visual aids.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic health systems.
  • Adapt examination techniques to optimize the care provided in a mobile setting.
  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry school.
  • State licensure to practice as an optometrist in New Mexico.
  • Proven experience in a clinical optometry or healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of ocular diseases and disorders.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a mobile care setting.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
