Information Security Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Information Security Specialist to safeguard our organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring robust protection against cyber threats. In this role, you will be responsible for managing critical security functions and collaborating with the Managed Services Provider (MSP) to maintain and enhance the security posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Endpoint Security:
• Oversee endpoint protection systems, ensuring comprehensive device security.
• Network Security:
• Manage firewalls, DMZ (Demilitarized Zone), and Network Access Control (NAC) to secure network boundaries.
• Configure and maintain VPNs for secure remote access.
• Administer the Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) to detect and block threats in real-time.
• Secure Gateways:
• Maintain and optimize mail gateways to protect against email-borne threats.
• Administer web proxy gateways to ensure safe internet browsing for users.
• Device and Data Security:
• Manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions to secure mobile endpoints.
• Implement and oversee Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies to protect sensitive data.
• Enforce data classification policies for secure and efficient data handling.
• Identity and Access Management (IAM):
• Manage identity and access control systems to ensure authorized access to resources.
• Collaboration and Monitoring:
• Work closely with the MSP for escalations, advanced security analysis, and ongoing support.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring quick resolution and minimal impact.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
• Technical Expertise:
• 5+ years Proven experience in endpoint protection, firewall management, and VPN configurations.
• Strong knowledge of IPS/IDS, DLP systems, and IAM tools.
• Familiarity with mail gateway, web proxy management, and MDM solutions.
• Problem-Solving:
• Analytical skills to assess and mitigate security risks effectively.
• Ability to identify and resolve security issues promptly.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams and MSPs.
• Ability to document and communicate security policies and procedures clearly.
