Job Description

Position Summary

Ready to be the maestro of our scheduling symphony? As our Lead Scheduling Coordinator, you'll be the wizard behind the curtain, orchestrating the perfect harmony of shifts for our Flex Team and communities. Under the magical guidance of the Director of Staffing and Scheduling, you'll wave your wand to create schedules that keep our clinical departments humming like a well-oiled machine. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to juggle multiple tasks, tame the wild beast of priorities, and be the scheduling superhero our team needs!

Your Exciting Adventure Includes:

  • Becoming the scheduling sensei for our Flex Team - guiding them through orientation, onboarding, and training like a pro!
  • Playing the role of Time-Off Tamer, managing PTO and sick time requests with the finesse of a circus ringmaster.
  • Teaming up with HR to tackle attendance and leave needs - think of yourself as the guru of staff schedules!
  • Crafting daily, weekly, weekend, and holiday schedules that would make even Tetris jealous.
  • Becoming the ultimate shift-swap matchmaker, ensuring everyone's happy while following the rules of the game.
  • Channeling your inner UN diplomat to communicate with various teams, solving scheduling puzzles with the grace of a chess grandmaster.
  • Donning your superhero cape to swoop in and save the day when scheduling crises arise.
  • Mastering the art of time record approval - think of it as giving a thumbs up to a job well done!
  • Leading your own squad of Scheduling Coordinators, nurturing their talents like a gardener tending to prize-winning roses.
  • Joining the on-call rotation - because even superheroes need to take turns saving the world!
  • Stepping into the Director's shoes when needed - it's like being understudy for the lead role in a Broadway show!
  • Attending meetings that are more fun than a barrel of monkeys (okay, maybe that's a stretch, but we'll try our best!)
  • Crunching numbers and wrangling data like a rodeo champion - yee-haw!
  • And for the grand finale - be ready for any surprise tasks that come your way. It's like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get!

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 2 years of scheduling experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of healthcare operations, including medical terminology, compressed workweeks, shift differentials, and wage and hour laws.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook, and other relevant technology and/or platforms.
  • Experienced working in a Time and Attendance systems, Kronos is desirable.  
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

  • Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • Sits, stands, bends, and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Interacts with residents, family members, visitors frequently.
