Material and Inventory Planner

The Materials and Inventory Coordinator will oversee and coordinate material and inventory movements to achieve the effective distribution of goods. This person will work closely with the Shipping and Warehousing Teams.


Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Coordination with 3PLs to set appointments for material movements.
  • Audit inbound and outbound transactions.
  • Manage material movements between offsite storage facilities.
  • Track and audit inventory.
  • Coordinate monthly cycle counts.
  • Assist with local freight planning.
  • Monitor inventory levels and determine when materials need to be replenished.
  • Create and maintain inventory records and ensure accuracy of inventory counts.
  • Coordinate the delivery of materials to the appropriate workstations, departments, or storage areas.
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure materials are available when needed for production or projects.
  • Monitor and report on inventory levels, usage, and trends to management.
  • Backfill for Logistics/Warehouse manager as needed.


Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Experience in materials coordination and planning.
  • Experience with inventory management and cycle counts.
  • Experience in customer service is a plus, though not required.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes.
  • Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP).
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities.
  • Must be able to speak English and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of total quality management tools such as lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, 5S is a plus.
  • Ability to solve problems and present effective and efficient solutions in a clear and concise manner.
