Code various types of cases using ICD-10-CM, PCS, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines
Coordinate coding meetings and monitor the review of patient records
Assist in training new coding staff and ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
Associate degree in Health Information Technology or equivalent experience; Bachelor's degree preferred
Five years of acute care inpatient and/or outpatient hospital coding experience
Ability to pass a coding exam before hiring
Certification as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC; dual credentials preferred
Proficiency in coding various patient medical records and understanding of coding reports
