Editorial Manager

The Editorial Manager (Evergreen) is detail-oriented with a strong background in content and SEO best practices. This role oversees the organization, scheduling, and instructions for all evergreen content across multiple brands. Reporting to the Director of Content, this person is crucial in executing content plans. The role manages a team of content editors responsible for creating, updating, and

optimizing evergreen content including operator reviews. The person in this role must be a subject matter expert in their given vertical.


YOUR CHALLENGE:
  • Oversee the execution of evergreen content strategies as outlined by the Head of Content Strategies and squad GMs. 
  • Ensure all evergreen pages are up-to-date, relevant, and optimized. 
  • Lead and mentor a team of content editors; providing guidance, feedback, and support while also  managing their workloads and ensuring content is delivered on time and up to standard.
  • Develop comprehensive page templates and content briefs for all types of evergreen content. Use these documents to assign work to content editors and freelancers, ensuring clarity and consistency in content production.
  • Execute sprints and roadmaps organized by the Head of Content Delivery, aligning content updates and projects with strategic priorities and timelines. 
  • Ensure all evergreen content complies with regulatory and legal standards applicable to sites with a portfolio. Stay informed about relevant regulations and make necessary adjustments to content as required.
  • Prioritize content delivery based on directives from squad GMs and digital content strategy team. 
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of evergreen content, making data-driven decisions to optimize and improve content.  
  • Editing and posting will sometimes be required when Content Editors are either unavailable or overcommitted.
  • Provide constructive feedback to writing staff on their copy, offering guidance on how to enhance their writing and adherence to brand standards.
  • Balance the demands of content output and quality. 
  • Create and maintain content calendars with input from the Head of Content Delivery.
  • Ensure timely execution of publishing promotional content to gain the most value in ranks and traffic/search.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Content


Leadership and team management responsibilities:
  • Managing team performance effectively through the practicing of ongoing performance management, including conducting performance reviews and regular 1-1 meetings
  • Leading by example by delivering positive results and being a visible Catena ambassador
  • Communicating effectively and ensuring information is delivered in a clear and timely manner 
  • Taking ownership of recruitment and selection for your team by working closely with HR and TA teams 
  • Enabling team and individual growth from the induction stage to ongoing learning and development 


TO DO IT, YOU WILL NEED:

An Editorial Manager (Evergreen) must have a minimum of three years of experience in editing and writing and two- or four-year college degree. 

Other qualifications include:
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including knowledge of AP style.
  • At least one year’s experience managing editorial teams.
  • Comfortable writing/editing quickly under deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Past experience writing about the gaming industry and sports betting or online casino is preferred.
  • Experience working in WordPress or the ability to learn a new CMS quickly is preferred.
