Director, Demand Generation

💡 Who We Are

Hi there! We’re Carbyne, and every day, we’re on a mission to revolutionize public safety. As the global leader in emergency collaboration technology, we’re building a cutting-edge platform that helps save lives—think live video streaming, real-time chat, and precise location tracking.

Our tools empower emergency teams to respond faster and smarter, ensuring help reaches those in need ASAP! With partnerships with tech giants like Amazon, Microsoft, and AT&T, we’re innovating life-saving solutions for over 400 million people worldwide

Are you ready to make a difference with us? Let’s do this!

🚀 About the Role

Reporting to the CMO and as a key leader on our Go-to-Market team, you will own Carbyne’s demand gen engine end-to-end. From big-picture campaign strategy to day-to-day lead nurturing tactics, you’ll craft multi-channel programs that drive awareness, engagement, and conversion. You’ll work cross-functionally to turn our product’s value proposition into compelling campaigns, optimize our marketing funnel, and ultimately generate high-quality pipeline for our sales team.

🎯 Here’s What You’ll Be Doing

  • Pipeline Ownership & Strategy: Own and drive the strategy for Carbyne’s demand generation efforts to meet pipeline and revenue goals. Develop quarterly and annual demand gen plans that outline target segments (e.g. public sector, enterprise, international markets), channels, budget allocation, and growth targets. Ensure all activities align with our broader GTM strategy and brand messaging.
  • Multi-Channel Campaign Execution: Plan, launch, and manage integrated marketing campaigns across all relevant channels – including email nurtures, webinars, content marketing, SEO/SEM, social media, and paid advertising. Experiment with a mix of inbound and outbound tactics to maximize reach. For each campaign, define clear objectives (MQLs, event attendees, etc.), execute on schedule, and monitor performance closely to make real-time adjustments.
  • Account-Based Marketing (ABM): Implement and scale an ABM strategy to penetrate key accounts (e.g. large city governments or major enterprises). Use ABM tools (like 6sense, Demandbase) and intent/signal data to identify high-potential accounts. Orchestrate personalized campaigns for these accounts – coordinating tailored content, ads, and outreach – in partnership with the sales account owners. Track engagement at target accounts and adjust tactics to deepen Carbyne’s influence within them.
  • Content & Product Marketing Integration: Collaborate closely with Product Marketing and Content teams to develop campaign assets that resonate. Ensure that messaging for each campaign or program highlights Carbyne’s unique value propositions and addresses the specific pain points of our audiences (e.g. 911 center directors, chiefs of police, CIOs in government). Leverage existing content (whitepapers, case studies, product demos) and identify gaps where new content is needed to support campaign themes.
  • Lead Nurturing & Funnel Optimization: Design and optimize the lead funnel from inquiry to SQL (Sales Qualified Lead). Establish effective lead scoring criteria and nurture tracks using our Marketing Automation Platform (e.g., HubSpot) – delivering the right content at the right time to move prospects along. Work with SDR/BDR (Sales Development) teams to ensure prompt follow-up on MQLs and refine qualification criteria as we learn. Minimize lead drop-off and improve conversion rates at each stage through ongoing testing (A/B emails, landing page tweaks, form optimizations, etc.).
  • Marketing Operations & Analytics: Oversee the marketing tech stack and data needed to power our campaigns. This includes managing our MAP and CRM integration (HubSpot ↔ Salesforce) so that leads flow correctly and are trackable through the funnel. Ensure we have clean, enriched data on our target audiences (using tools like ZoomInfo for data enrichment). Develop dashboards and reports to transparently show marketing performance – from website traffic and MQLs to pipeline and ROI. Analyze campaign results and funnel metrics on a weekly/monthly basis, sharing insights and using them to improve future efforts.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and mentor any team members focused on demand generation (or manage external agencies/resources as needed). Foster a culture of creativity, experimentation, and data-driven decision making within the team. Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, PR/Communications, and Partner Marketing to ensure our demand gen efforts are synchronized with product launches, partner campaigns, field events, and sales initiatives. You’re the chief coordinator making sure marketing efforts and sales efforts march in lockstep.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Stay current with the latest B2B marketing trends and tools. Experiment with new growth tactics and channels – whether that’s testing account-based direct mail gifts, piloting a referral program, or exploring a new platform for reaching public safety officials. Continuously seek feedback from sales on lead quality and adjust strategies accordingly. In essence, never settle; always look for ways to boost performance and find more people we can help with Carbyne’s solutions.

🔑 What You Bring

To shine in this role, you’ll need:

  • Experience: 12+ years of B2B demand generation or growth marketing experience, with a proven track record of driving pipeline and revenue. You have led multi-channel campaigns and optimized marketing funnels. At least 2-3 years in a role with team leadership or mentorship responsibilities (manager or above). Experience marketing to public sector or government audiences is a plus (understanding longer sales cycles and procurement processes).
  • Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Demonstrated ability to develop data-driven marketing strategies. You’re comfortable setting targets (MQLs, SQLs, CAC, etc.) and forecasting how marketing activities will impact revenue. Exceptional analytical skills – proficient with marketing analytics tools and able to derive insights from data. You make decisions based on metrics, but also balance quantitative insight with creative thinking for campaign ideas.
  • Hands-on Campaign Execution: You’re equally comfortable strategizing and executing. Deep knowledge of digital marketing channels (SEO, SEM, email, social, display advertising) and best practices in each. Experience creating and managing campaigns in marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo) and running A/B tests to optimize performance. You have a bias for action and can manage projects end-to-end, coordinating cross-functional contributors (design, content, ops) to hit deadlines.
  • ABM and Enterprise Marketing: Strong experience with Account-Based Marketing approaches. Familiarity with ABM platforms (6sense, Demandbase, etc.) and tactics for targeting specific accounts or verticals. You understand how to customize messaging and outreach to engage multiple stakeholders within a target account. Any experience aligning marketing to large enterprise or government accounts (e.g., multi-touch campaigns for big deals) is valuable.
  • Tech Stack Proficiency: Hands-on expertise with CRM and marketing automation integration (Salesforce and HubSpot preferred). Able to segment and query databases, set up workflows, and ensure data flows correctly between systems. Knowledge of supporting tools such as Google Analytics (web analytics), social media management suites, webinar platforms, and data enrichment tools (ZoomInfo) is expected. Experience with content engagement or intent monitoring tools (e.g., PathFactory, HighSpot, Seismic) a plus.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proven ability to work closely with Sales teams – for example, aligning on lead definitions, providing enablement materials for follow-up, and maintaining a feedback loop. Experience presenting plans and results to executive leadership. You can rally cross-functional teams around campaigns and clearly articulate the “why” behind your strategy.
  • Adaptability & Drive: Thrives in a fast-paced, startup-like environment. Able to pivot quickly when strategies need adjusting, and manage ambiguity. Results-driven and extremely proactive – you take initiative to identify opportunities and don’t wait for others to tell you where improvement is needed. High energy and passion for making a difference; you resonate with Carbyne’s mission to save lives and that motivates you to go the extra mile.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience). Advanced training or certifications in digital marketing, analytics, or ABM (Google Ads, HubSpot Inbound, ABM certification, etc.) are nice to have.
