Key Responsibilities

• Prepares appeal letters and gathers necessary information for insurance claim denials
• Verifies patient eligibility, resolves payment issues, and identifies areas for improvement within the billing department
• Ensures compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA guidelines related to billing and collections

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 3+ years of insurance billing and collection experience
• Expert knowledge of insurance and reimbursement processes
• Familiarity with HIPAA privacy requirements and medical coding (ICD 9 and CPT)
• Proficient in computer use and common office equipment
