This position is remotely based. We are unable to offer work sponsorship for this role. 

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to develop, deploy, and integrate APIs that connect various data sources to power intelligent software agents and AI models. This role involves technical leadership, backend development, and cloud-based deployments, with a focus on scalability and data processing.

The lead will manage a team of engineers, set priorities, and guide development efforts while remaining hands-on. Ideal candidates have experience with Python, Node.js, and cloud technologies, along with strong knowledge of API development, scaling large datasets, and working with databases like Redshift, MySQL, and Postgres.

Your impact:

• Develop and deploy scalable APIs that integrate with AI-powered applications and external data sources.
• Design and optimize data retrieval pipelines from Redshift, MySQL, Postgres.
• Deploy APIs using dedicated servers or serverless environments (AWS ECS, EC2, etc.) based on traffic needs.
• Work with AI teams to integrate APIs into agentic software and LLM-powered tools.
• EAPI performance, troubleshooting issues related to latency and uptime.
• Drive scalability improvements to support large datasets and high-traffic environments.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, efficient, and well-documented APIs. 

About you:

• 7+ years of backend development experience, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in Python and Node.js.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying APIs in production.
• Experience retrieving and processing data from internal/external services, Redshift, MySQL, and Postgres.
• Strong understanding of scaling challenges when working with large datasets.
• Familiarity with AWS services (ECS, EC2, API Gateway).
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, authentication (OAuth, JWT), and cloud deployments.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and decision-making skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Preferred Skills:

• Experience integrating AI-riven APIs (OpenAI, LangChain, etc.). 
• Experience with AWS Lambda or serverless computing.
