We have an opportunity for a motivated individual to fill the role of MEP Traveling Superintendent, Field Operations.  In this position, the successful candidate will be highly technical and responsible for ensuring high work quality is upheld by contractors, with the end goal of prioritizing customer satisfaction and the optimal performance of Budderfly’s installed solutions.

This role supports the company’s dedication to applying the right set of energy saving solutions within each customer location while prioritizing quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-field training of contractors as it pertains to Budderfly’s MEP energy conservation solutions (refrigeration, lighting, and plumbing), processes, mobile applications, and troubleshooting.
  • Audit contractor installations (both in-person and remotely) for completeness and quality of work with the use of a detailed audit checklist and spearhead the resolution of any issues being sure to systematically escalate where necessary.
  • Create and maintain training documentation as well as a contractor certification program by crew, to support the self-sufficiency of contractors and further enable the remote aspects of Budderfly’s model.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the entire installation process including all technical aspects, and the use of Budderfly applications, systems, and processes, to serve as Budderfly’s “expert installer” (including work orders, survey tools, network connectivity, etc.).
  • Perform technical diagnoses of recurring customer escalations to bring forth resolution and inform future installations.
  • Provide technical guidance to the off-site installation support team on an as needed basis, and as it relates to continuous improvement.
  • Ensure consistent installation quality across contractors, crews, customers, and site types through compliance with Budderfly standards and SOP’s and adherence to industry standards and building codes.
  • Frequently coordinate with adjacent teams to identify areas of improvement related to installation activities and implement accordingly.
  • Travel nationwide (up to 75% on average), including nights and weekends as required, to accommodate the varying schedules of contractor installation crews.
  • Other job-related duties may be assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering / Construction Management, or High School Diploma and industry-specific certification.
  • Minimum 5-10 years in facilities management, building engineering, or building maintenance with some portion in a leadership role.
  • 5+ years performing hands on work in the field with refrigeration controls and HVAC(required), lighting systems & controls, plumbing fixtures & accessories, and network connectivity.
  • Knowledge of building codes, industry best practices, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Exceptional skill in relationship building and conflict resolution.
  • Superior critical thinking, problem-solving, organization, communication skills with an attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to work independently, manage a schedule, and drive improvement in contractors.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel), and ability to learn new software programs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stand and walk for extended periods of time, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and engage in all physical activities required for a full installation of Budderfly’s MEP solutions.
  • OSHA 10 certified and Valid Driver’s License (with an ability to drive in any state).
  • Experience in the QSR, Casual Dining, and Hospitality industry.
Compensation
$80,000$90,000 USD

Compensation is based on factors including level of experience, skillset, qualifications, and location.
