We are seeking a highly organized, motivated, and detail-oriented Senior Logistics Professional to join our team. As Senior Logistics Professional at Ascendis Pharma A/S, your role is instrumental in ensuring the efficient and timely distribution of products across our global operations, mainly focused on interaction with 3PL's and logistics service providers in general.

You'll work closely within cross-functional teams and with external partners, directly influencing our preparations for launch in new markets and in supporting daily operations. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make your mark on a newly established function within the Global Logistics and Distribution team, reporting to the Associate Director for Trade Operations & European Distribution.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary point of contact for 3PL providers, fostering strong and collaborative relationships.
  • Facilitate coordination of all logistics activities with 3PL partners, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, ensuring smooth operations and issue resolution.
  • Monitor and track shipments, inventory levels, and order fulfillment to ensure efficient operations.
  • Handle return shipments and complaints with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Implement process improvements and optimizations   to enhance the efficiency and reliability of logistics operations.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards related to logistics and transportation.
  • Get to understand the business inside out, generate regular reports and analysis on logistics performance, identifying trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management based on data-driven analysis of 3PL operations and cost structure.

In this role, success will depend on strong cross-functional collaboration, including:

  • Align logistics activities with procurement, planning, inventory management, finance, and other key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives, including product launches, market expansions, and system implementations, to enhance supply chain performance.

Qualifications and skills:

  • 5-7 years of experience working with logistics coordination and third-party logistics providers, preferably within the Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry (GxP) or any other regulated industry such as Food/Medical device.
  • Proficiency in English and Danish at a professional level, both written and spoken, and mastery of Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems/logistics management software, preferably D365.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Proactive problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and address logistics-related challenges.
  • Strong understanding of logistics processes and best practices, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management
