Supervisor - Commissary

Summary

The Commissary Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the commissary team, ensuring the production and delivery of high-quality and safe catering services for flights. This role involves supervising a team of commissary staff, coordinating with various departments, and maintaining compliance with relevant safety and security regulations and standards.

Minimum Requirements:

Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.


Education: High School Diploma/GED


Years of Experience: Minimum one (1) year of airline operations experience or other applicable experience. 


Valid/Unexpired Passport Book: No

Valid/Unexpired Driver's License: Yes

• Must be able to obtain and retain Commissary Truck and Forklift qualifications (where applicable).

• Must be able to obtain and retain Ground Security Coordinator qualification.

• Ability to read and write English.

• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.

• Able to attend and pass required and recurrent training.

• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.


Preferred Requirements:

• Proven experience in commissary, catering, or similar food service operations, preferably in an aviation or airport environment.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with other departments.

• Ability to make quick and effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of food safety standards and operational procedures within a commissary setting.

• Problem-solving skills and the capability to address operational issues effectively.


Job Duties:

• Operational Oversight: Lead and manage commissary operations, including oversight of the storage, preparation, and loading of food and beverage items onto aircraft. Monitor the performance of commissary operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions. Responsible for product management to include all aspects of product delivery and inventory.

Create and manage Team Member schedules within the commissary department to ensure efficiency of utilization and hour usage. Provide oversight and supervision during irregular operations.

• Leadership and Development:

Lead and manage commissary operations, including oversight of the storage, preparation, and loading of food and beverage items onto aircraft.

Ensure all Team Members are consistently informed of performance metrics in all areas using available company data.

• Communication:

Organize regular training and briefing sessions for the commissary staff to maintain high standards of service and safety.

Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure that commissary services align with operational plans and schedules.

• Compliance and Security:

Implement and manage access control systems to secure physical premises.

Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices within the commissary department.

Ensure Catering Truck Seal Verification forms are audited for accuracy and retained for 30 days (Off-SIDA Locations only).

Confirm all forms and paperwork are completely properly and retained (if applicable) for designated timeframes .

• Team member performance and retention:

Oversee time and attendance for hourly Team Members.

Provide feedback and evaluations of Team Members with emphasis on promoting results and performance excellence.

Administer corrective action as required.

Promote teamwork within the work group. Recognize and celebrate employee achievements.

• Ensure any direct reports understand and apply our Customer Commitment and customer service standards to their daily responsibilities as appropriate.

• Model Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing leadership direction.

•Other duties as necessary


Physical Requirements:

The Physical Demands and Work Environment described here are a representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of the role. Airport Agent - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, climb and use hands and fingers to operate various types of tools and equipment (i.e. hand trucks, carts, ramps, tugs, etc.). Are required to lift and/or carry up to 100 lbs. and to push and/or pull up to 300 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to heights, small spaces, extreme noise (i.e. airport with planes, vehicles, and other machinery), temperature, wind, and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to crawl in and out of small spaces for extended periods of time. Ability to wear personal protective gear. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.


Essential Services Provider:

Allegiant as a national air carrier is deemed an essential service provider during declared national and state emergencies. Team Members will be required to report to their assigned trip or work location during national and state emergencies unless prohibited by local, state or federal order.
